Basque Urban Agenda adopted

On 25 november, the Basque Urban Agenda Bultzatu 2050 was presented in Donostia-San Sebastian at the Euskal Hiria Congress, with the participation -among others- of Joan Clos, former Head of UN-Habitat (United Nations Human Settlements Programme).
I'm very proud to have contributed to as International Affairs advisor in the elaboration of this powerful strategy -the first one of its kind in the Region- which is set to be a best practice both at EU and international level.
It has been a very challenging but extremely interesting four-year path together with the Basque Government's Urban Regeneration Unit, which has involved a wide consultation process bringing together more than 40 stakeholders. This participatory process has followed an SDG approach: both multi-level (different Departments in the Regional Government, Province and Municipal authorities) and multi-stakeholder (Institutions, private companies, Universities & research centres, civil society organisations...).
Now it's time to start implementing this ambitious Strategy at city and town level (and, if course, to continue with its' international dissemination, of zhich I'l already in charge!) keeping always in mind that this is NOT a "document", but a tool for transformative commitment.
