Great news!
Today the HIROSS4ALL project -creating One-Stop-Shops for integral urban regeneration in vulnerable districts- in which I’m participating, is officially starting with a kick-off meeting in Bilbao.
This project -selected for funding within the European Commission’s #H2020 Programme- is the result of hard work being done last year in close cooperation with the Basque Government’s Urban Regeneration Department, under the leadership of Ignacio de la Puerta Rueda and Arantza Leturiondo Aranzamendi
Local One-Stop-Shops will be key for ensuring that neighbours get the needed support in the building renovation projects to be undertaken in Otxarkoaga (Bilbao) and Txonta (Eibar). #Energyefficiency measures will come together with improving #accessibility in our (very old) building stock, #comfort and better living conditions in the neighbourhoods for #ageing population, #job creation in the construction and service sector, etc.
It will certainly be a big challenge for the 3 years of duration of the project. But -for the moment- it’s good to see that last year’s work paid off.
PS: Thanks to my former partners in the Energy Efficiency community in Brussels for their letters of support on this one. You see – building renovation’s multiple benefits applied bottom-up!
